Sonny and Cher, Tina and Ike, Axl and Slash, Milli and Vanilli – the history of music is full of memorable partnerships. This time Connaisseur sub-imprint Outils presents a brand-new collaboration of two well-known artists: Daso, our man from Poona and Connaisseur-regular, teams up with Franklin de Costa (Leena, Crack & Speed, Curle etc.). Their tracks for this release dig deeply into house history, are then transferred into an up-to-date production and therefore provide two top-notch house tools for various occasions. To complete this floor-oriented package, we have invited Frenchmen of the moment – dOP – to do a rework of Cato’s Hideout.

Cato’s Hideout – One sequence, drumming and some crazy vocals snippets: a track doesn’t need more than that. Basic, raw and with a slightly humoristic touch, the crowd will love it.

Tiger Lily grabs you right from the first beat with its dubby groove and the distorted chord. But then, funky stabs are slowly added to create a unique atmosphere. Funk in a rather wacky way.

Cato’s Hideout (dOP Rmx) is a slightly shuffled Pink Pantheresque interpretation. An excellent smoothly played sax makes this track the perfect partner both for special moments in the club and for having delicious French cheese with a nice glass of red wine.
